In the 9th minute, Berkin Siyami got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cahit Filiz in the 14th minute of play forced Ankaragücü's goalkeeper Güralp Kınıkaslan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Adanaspor booed when Ankaragücü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehmet Ediz Yesari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cahit Filiz struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Güralp Kınıkaslan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Adanaspor. After some careless play in the Ankaragücü defense, Cahit Filiz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Güralp Kınıkaslan. The Ankaragücü fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Güralp Kınıkaslan should have stopped the shot. Bircan Balkanlı could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Ahmet Arif Diclehan made a huge save. In the 44th minute, Bircan Balkanlı fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Adanaspor's Berkin Siyami in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ankaragücü's goalie prevented a goal.

Berkin Siyami fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Güralp Kınıkaslan having to interfere. Güralp Kınıkaslan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Berkin Siyami showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 65 minute of play. After 68 played minutes Adanaspor got a freekick which was hit by Korhan İcmal. Cahit Filiz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Güralp Kınıkaslan came out and tried to block the shot, but Cahit Filiz slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 71st minute. The Ankaragücü players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
