Olympos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baltalimani the free kick. After a rather tough play, Olympos's Erhan Uğural got a free kick in the 12th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tanju Ülgener showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tanju Ülgener was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Güner Toktimur showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 14 minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Ertaç Akbayrak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Tanju Ülgener was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Haluk Özguven recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Haluk Özguven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Løve having to interfere. After 32 played minutes Olympos got a freekick which was hit by Erhan Uğural. Haluk Özguven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Vágner Løve tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kadir Kaptan during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Olympos booed when Baltalimani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kadir Kaptan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haluk Özguven in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vágner Løve prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Güner Toktimur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 42nd minute, Olympos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ertaç Akbayrak fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 47 minutes into the match, Olympos's goal looked a bit too open when Güner Toktimur came free, but Tanju Ülgener reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A long shot from Yiğit Can Şemsi in the 74th minute of play was well struck, but Vágner Løve made a really good save at the right post. Baltalimani's Nebi Sarısaltuk got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tanju Ülgener took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ertaç Akbayrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olympos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
