Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Duman's Boran İftihar started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 8 minutes, Boran İftihar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Duman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boran İftihar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 9th minute, Bektaş Ali Yönet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Onurhan Bilgin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Duman's Karadeniz Elçioğlu got a free kick in the 15th minute. Boran İftihar might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tansu Akçınar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boran İftihar ran back to his position shaking his head. Boran İftihar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sadettin Hançer charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sadettin Hançer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Onurhan Bilgin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Necdet Temur having to interfere. Ondokuzmayis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Duman the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Boran İftihar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Duman's supporters rose to their feet, but Boran İftihar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tansu Akçınar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boran İftihar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The supporters of Ondokuzmayis booed when Duman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hulki Bayrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Onurhan Bilgin in the 53rd minute of play forced Duman's goalkeeper Ahmet Necdet Temur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duman's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ondokuzmayis the free kick. Duman's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
