After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bafra FK! Ovando Grimaldo had in the 7thth minute some difficulties stopping Nejat Şafakoğlu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ovando Grimaldo came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Maltepe SK's Hulki Özbilgin. But to his dismay, Hulki Özbilgin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Maltepe SK's Atabek Periz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Maltepe SK from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute Yahya Tekinel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovando Grimaldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Teoman Kutkan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ovando Grimaldo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sümer Üçer kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After 33 played minutes, Maltepe SK's Nejat Şafakoğlu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ovando Grimaldo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maltepe SK reached it. After some careless play in the Bafra FK defense, Yahya Tekinel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovando Grimaldo. The Bafra FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovando Grimaldo should have stopped the shot. In the 36th match minute, Maltepe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nejat Şafakoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Feridun Namal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Atabek Periz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yahya Tekinel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovando Grimaldo having to interfere. The Bafra FK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Maltepe SK were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hidayet Şükran made a kick off. Ahmet Nasir Kılıçer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Ovando Grimaldo made a huge save. In the 61st minute, Gürcan Alpaslan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Ergün Artan in the 70th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Bafra FK's Mikail Usbay. Feridun Namal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Atabek Periz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hidayet Şükran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bafra FK's Hidayet Şükran got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bafra FK's Ovando Grimaldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Bafra FK from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Maltepe SK's Nejat Şafakoğlu got a free kick in the 90th minute. Mikail Usbay took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Atabek Periz. Maltepe SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 93rd minute of the match, Teoman Kutkan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ovando Grimaldo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 96 minutes into the match, Maltepe SK's goal looked a bit too open when Hidayet Şükran came free, but Atabek Periz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Maltepe SK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
