Andaç Karun charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andaç Karun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 3 played minutes GALATASARAY got a freekick which was hit by Andaç Karun. After 4 played minutes Göztepe 1925 got a freekick which was hit by Ogün Doğay. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Burhanettin Özakın in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gökhan Batı saved Göztepe 1925 from getting behind. A collision led to GALATASARAY getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alican Toköz hit a great ball. Suavi Sezginay's late challenge caught a Göztepe 1925's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Suavi Sezginay helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute, Burhanettin Özakın ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gökhan Batı was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Veysel Hızlı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 29 played minutes GALATASARAY got a freekick which was hit by Halil İbrahim Sezer. 32 minutes into the match, Suavi Sezginay notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Göztepe 1925's Gökhan Batı. Gökhan Batı was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Burhanettin Özakın struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Gökhan Batı didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GALATASARAY. The GALATASARAY fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when GALATASARAY's Burhanettin Özakın looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Suavi Sezginay struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Gökhan Batı didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GALATASARAY. After 48 minutes of play, GALATASARAY's Burhanettin Özakın made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gökhan Batı was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Burhanettin Özakın to strike the kick off in the second half. Göztepe 1925's Gökhan Batı proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Göztepe 1925 from getting a goal against them. Batı Kağan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veysel Hızlı in the 56th minute of play. In the 58thth minute of the game Veysel Hızlı who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GALATASARAY's Batı Kağan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ali Güralp İrem kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Burhanettin Özakın managed to get in a good position for a shot. GALATASARAY's supporters rose to their feet, but Burhanettin Özakın was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gökhan Batı breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Suavi Sezginay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Suavi Sezginay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Burhanettin Özakın had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Suavi Sezginay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With his leg Gökhan Batı managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when GALATASARAY's Burhanettin Özakın fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Mustafa Haydar Bakırcıoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Suavi Sezginay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gökhan Batı read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. When Suavi Sezginay came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the GALATASARAY fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Suavi Sezginay couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the match, GALATASARAY's goal looked a bit too open when Arda Ozan Dilşah came free, but Batı Kağan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mustafa Haydar Bakırcıoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andaç Karun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Burhanettin Özakın's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gökhan Batı was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Batı Kağan came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Göztepe 1925's Ahmet Göktuğ İnegöllü. But to his dismay, Ahmet Göktuğ İnegöllü quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Mustafa Haydar Bakırcıoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. GALATASARAY's supporters rose to their feet, but Mustafa Haydar Bakırcıoğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gökhan Batı breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Burhanettin Özakın in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gökhan Batı prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 98 in the game by Burhanettin Özakın from a close distance when the talented Gökhan Batı managed to make a qualified save. Göztepe 1925's players were relieved. GALATASARAY's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
