Kudret Tacik came out of the goal and Fazıl Hüsnü Uslu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Fenerbahçe players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Konyaspor were winning 0-1.

Fenerbahçe's Tuncay Bakırcı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hüseyin Cahit Ankara in the 72nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Fenerbahçe had won after a very even match.
