After having played for 16 minutes, Fahri Erol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karasu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fahri Erol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Erdi Özen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Besiktas JK booed when Karasu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cankut Oğuzman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bahri Levent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erdi Özen having to interfere. Özal İleri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Erdem Siralp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saip Akdağ helped the player get up and apologised. Cankut Oğuzman walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Besiktas JK's Erdem Siralp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Özal İleri in the 92nd minute of play. Fahri Erol struck a weak shot in the 101st minute. Erdem Siralp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karasu. Besiktas JK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
