After 33 minutes of play, FenerBahçe's Anıl Mücahit Ercan made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 51 played minutes Babaeski JK got a freekick which was hit by Ege Cemşit. After a defensive mix-up in Babaeski JK's zone, Ahmet Ömür Tuncer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Çelebi Erçin came out of the goal and Ahmet Ömür Tuncer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmet Ömür Tuncer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Çelebi Erçin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Anıl Mücahit Ercan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Cevdet Zabit got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cevdet Zabit in the 79th minute of play forced FenerBahçe's goalkeeper Haşmet Paksoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Babaeski JK defense, Ahmet Ömür Tuncer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Çelebi Erçin. The Babaeski JK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Çelebi Erçin should have stopped the shot. In the 94th match minute, Babaeski JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustafa Barış Erincer to maneuver through the defense. Anıl Mücahit Ercan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 96th minute. FenerBahçe's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The FenerBahçe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FenerBahçe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
