Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nedim Şanlı started the match with the kick off. If Zaid Çol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nedim Şanlı came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Salihli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nedim Şanlı couldn't finish the play. An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Sungur Canaydin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 12 minutes, Başar Tongal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salihli's supporters crossed their fingers, but Başar Tongal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sungur Canaydin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haşmet Paksoy having to interfere. After 17 played minutes FenerBahçe got a freekick which was hit by Zaid Çol. In the 17th minute, Nedim Şanlı got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nedim Şanlı in the 20th minute of play forced FenerBahçe's goalkeeper Haşmet Paksoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mehmet Ferit Zihni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Ömür Tuncer in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Salihli's Başar Tongal got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute of the match, Nedim Şanlı tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Haşmet Paksoy saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 28 played minutes FenerBahçe got a freekick which was hit by Zaid Çol. Haşmet Paksoy was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nedim Şanlı showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 29 minute of play. In the 40th minute, Sungur Canaydin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Salihli fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anıl Mücahit Ercan made a kick off. Sungur Canaydin struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Haşmet Paksoy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salihli. After a rather tough play, Salihli's Alper Tellioğlu got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FenerBahçe's zone, Sungur Canaydin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haşmet Paksoy came out of the goal and Sungur Canaydin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Salihli booed when FenerBahçe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position.
