The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karhan Haseki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Altay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cláudio Guerra should have stopped the shot. Yunus Özdoğru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cláudio Guerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karhan Haseki in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cláudio Guerra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cláudio Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Göktan Seyhan in the 15th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Altay's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Efe Şendoğan came free, but Cláudio Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yunus Özdoğru in the 23rd minute of play forced Altay's goalkeeper Cláudio Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karhan Haseki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cláudio Guerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Altay's Cláudio Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yunus Özdoğru in the 31st minute of play. When Savaşer Onsoy fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elmadag's protests and gave Savaşer Onsoy a yellow card for diving instead. After 33 played minutes Elmadag got a freekick which was hit by Savaşer Onsoy. Saltuk Vedat hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Cláudio Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karhan Haseki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cláudio Guerra came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Elmadag's Karhan Haseki. But to his dismay, Karhan Haseki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Altay's Cláudio Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yunus Özdoğru in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute Yunus Özdoğru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yunus Özdoğru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Yunus Özdoğru reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cláudio Guerra. The goal made the score 0-3. The supporters of Elmadag booed when Altay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saruhan Başbuğoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 86 minutes of play, Elmadag's Karhan Haseki made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cláudio Guerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Karhan Haseki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elmadag's supporters rose to their feet, but Karhan Haseki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cláudio Guerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cláudio Guerra made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Karhan Haseki sent off a good shot on target. 93 minutes into the match, Mehmet Efe Şendoğan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cláudio Guerra. In the 96th minute, Hulusi Özguven hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elmadag's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
