When Ahmet Kutsi Hünkar fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kurtuluşspor's protests and gave Ahmet Kutsi Hünkar a yellow card for diving instead. After 9 played minutes Kurtuluşspor got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Kutsi Hünkar. In the 11th minute, Ahmet Kutsi Hünkar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hidayet Yener made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ayhan Göçer in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Kurtuluşspor's goal looked a bit too open when Recai Tuğsan came free, but Ergincan Kudsi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rıfkı Demirtuğ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Hidayet Yener tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dinçer Akadlı stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hidayet Yener took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Resulhan Nursal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ayhan Göçer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Resulhan Nursal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ahmet Kutsi Hünkar was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ahmet Kutsi Hünkar kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Ahmet İlke Onursan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kurtuluşspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmet İlke Onursan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hidayet Yener breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute, Ayhan Göçer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vacid Tüzer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Ergincan Kudsi made a huge save. If Akgün Özok had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ayhan Göçer struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Hidayet Yener didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kurtuluşspor. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ayhan Göçer couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Kurtuluşspor failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
