Atalan Okbaş hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Gürol Böke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 18 minutes, Yağız Oksay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yıldız SK and the Ortaköy players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Yıldız SK booed when Ortaköy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şahin Kayra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Olcay Peker made a precise shot to the right of Ahmet Reha Orkan. Ortaköy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When Ceyhun Birsoy came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ortaköy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ceyhun Birsoy couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ortaköy's zone, Olcay Peker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmet Reha Orkan came out of the goal and Olcay Peker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ortaköy's Ahmet Reha Orkan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olcay Peker in the 76th minute of play. Bican Özbilek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cezmi Paşa having to interfere.
