The supporters of Beşikdüzüspor FC booed when Maltepespor FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ogün Sağanalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Maltepespor FK's goalkeeper Arslan Uluçkan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl-Axel Liljeström. During the 20th minute of the match Ogün Sağanalp completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ogün Sağanalp a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Arslan Uluçkan made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Karl-Axel Liljeström sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yıldırım Özçevik in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bülent Akdurmuş saved Beşikdüzüspor FC from getting behind. In the 40th minute, Karl-Axel Liljeström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Beşikdüzüspor FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Beşikdüzüspor FC's Cesar Narria managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Turgay Dengiz in the 44 minute of the game. Arslan Uluçkan made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Karl-Axel Liljeström sent off a good shot on target. Yıldırım Özçevik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bülent Akdurmuş having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yıldırım Özçevik stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Beşikdüzüspor FC's Bülent Akdurmuş proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Beşikdüzüspor FC from getting a goal against them. After 65 minutes, Karl-Axel Liljeström made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Maltepespor FK's Arslan Uluçkan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 69th match minute, Maltepespor FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deniz Serimer to maneuver through the defense. Arslan Uluçkan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Axel Liljeström's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Maltepespor FK's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Axel Liljeström came free, but Arslan Uluçkan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Abidin Özgebay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arslan Uluçkan was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Despite being the better team, Maltepespor FK failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
