The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sarp Atikoğlu was the one to do the kick off. Bernard Rodenboog made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sarp Atikoğlu in the 51st minute of play. After some careless play in the Galatasaray defense, Mehmet Arif Balkoç kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernard Rodenboog. The Galatasaray fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernard Rodenboog should have stopped the shot. Bernard Rodenboog showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisito Suarez in the 59th minute of the match. Ahmet Kutsi İnan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fausto Magalhães in the 66th minute.
