In the 30th match minute, Grozny FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aleksey Bolotin to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, CSKA MOSKVA's goalkeeper Kazimierz Trynda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petr Panfilov. Aleksey Bolotin hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Daniel Flis scored 0-3 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Irakliy Fioletov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aleksey Bolotin during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes Grozny FC got a freekick which was hit by Aleksey Bolotin. After 44 played minutes, CSKA MOSKVA's Haroldo Roldanillo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Irakliy Fioletov came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CSKA MOSKVA reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Leonid Anyukov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grozny FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonid Anyukov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kazimierz Trynda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half CSKA MOSKVA were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

50 minutes into the game, Petr Panfilov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grozny FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CSKA MOSKVA the free kick. Haroldo Roldanillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Irakliy Fioletov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Artem Gostintsev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, CSKA MOSKVA's goal looked a bit too open when Petr Panfilov came free, but Kazimierz Trynda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroldo Roldanillo in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Irakliy Fioletov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Irakliy Fioletov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Haroldo Roldanillo in the 60th minute. If Petr Panfilov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 minutes, Haroldo Roldanillo made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Grozny FC's Irakliy Fioletov tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Grozny FC's Irakliy Fioletov got control of the ball when Haroldo Roldanillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 75 minutes, Leonid Anyukov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grozny FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonid Anyukov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Haroldo Roldanillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Irakliy Fioletov made a huge save. Haroldo Roldanillos short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Irakliy Fioletov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some careless play in the CSKA MOSKVA defense, Leonid Anyukov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kazimierz Trynda. The CSKA MOSKVA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kazimierz Trynda should have stopped the shot. Petr Panfilov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kazimierz Trynda having to interfere. After 94 minutes, Ilya Kidrasov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CSKA MOSKVA and the Grozny FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ilya Kidrasov kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. CSKA MOSKVA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
