Spectators: 8414 (Terracing: 6364, Seating: 1950, VIP seats: 100) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Wangari Cheruiyot got the match started through his kick off. After having played for 3 minutes, William Lukoye managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Great Addington's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Lukoye was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Thomas Maish came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Great Addington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Maish couldn't finish the play. Haji Keter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Samuel Akinyi went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Michael Cheruiyot kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Fred Kiptanui sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, William Lukoye got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 28 played minutes Steel Shields FC got a freekick which was hit by Micheal Ouko. After a rather tough play, Great Addington's Michael Cheruiyot got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 37th minute Robert Atieno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Ogot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 played minutes Great Addington got a freekick which was hit by Michael Cheruiyot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Akinyi in the 45th minute of play forced Steel Shields FC's goalkeeper Haji Keter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thomas Maish got free with Haji Keter in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Haji Keter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Akinyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Great Addington's Wilson Ogot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Great Addington from getting a goal against them. During the 63rd minute of the match Michael Cheruiyot completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Michael Cheruiyot a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 64th match minute, Great Addington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Cheruiyot to maneuver through the defense. Maurice Saleh Nabhan kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Wilson Ogot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Waithaka in the 72nd minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Great Addington's goalkeeper Wilson Ogot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joseph Waithaka. 77 minutes into the match, Steel Shields FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Kiptanui came free, but Haji Keter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Fred Kiptanui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes into the match, Fred Kiptanui had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Haji Keter. Steel Shields FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fred Kiptanui was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Wangari Cheruiyot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. William Lukoye received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Haji Keter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Steel Shields FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Great Addington.
