With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurice Masai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 38 minutes into the match, city club's James Sarun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maurice Masai narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Accrington's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. William Maish was slow to take the kick. During this time city club's players had a chance to rest.

Maurice Masai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paul Musyoka went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. James Sarun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Mulama struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Maurice Masai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for city club. Maurice Masai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Musyoka, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute.
