Carsten Kruijs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Uche having to make a save. With an all-out effort, Liverpool KN's Wilson Uche threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Moses Ogot, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Brighton's Wilson Uche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moses Ogot in the 9th minute of play. After 12 played minutes, Liverpool KN's Moses Ogot shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wilson Uche came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Liverpool KN reached it. If Ngina Keino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute Carsten Kruijs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Uche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Hassan Waroo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brighton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Moses Ogot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Brighton getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Duncan Origi hit a great ball. Wilson Uche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ngina Keino, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Moses Ogot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Wilson Uche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Brighton's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kimutai Mwaura fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 41 minutes into the game, David Kagai Nyambura was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brighton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liverpool KN the free kick. After 42 played minutes Brighton got a freekick which was hit by David Kagai Nyambura. 43 minutes into the match, Brighton's goalkeeper Wilson Uche had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moses Ogot. Brighton's Wilson Uche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moses Ogot in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Brighton's goal looked a bit too open when Moses Ogot came free, but Wilson Uche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Moses Ogot ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Uche was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carsten Kruijs made a kick off. Carsten Kruijs struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Wilson Uche didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool KN. Remco Driel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hassan Waroo in the 56th minute of play. Ngina Keino scored 2-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Uche, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. James Chepkemei kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Kimutai Mwaura sped through Brighton's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilson Uche. Brighton's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antony Nyambura in the 77th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Moses Kipkoech heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. A collision led to Brighton getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Duncan Origi hit a great ball. Carsten Kruijs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Uche having to interfere. Moses Ogot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Brighton defense, Kimutai Mwaura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Uche. The Brighton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Uche should have stopped the shot. Carsten Kruijs scored 5-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Uche, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Liverpool KN had played much better football throughout.
