Ramiz Ändärov charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramiz Ändärov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute, Ramiz Ändärov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Äfqan Malişov took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sättar Hätämov. Sättar Hätämov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Äfqan Malişov might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sättar Hätämov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Äfqan Malişov ran back to his position shaking his head. Manaf Äbdilov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xaläddin Häbibov having to interfere. Xaläddin Häbibov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Qurban Bünyatov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sättar Hätämov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eldäniz Quliyev, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Qurban Bünyatov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Xaläddin Häbibov made a huge save. 59 minutes into the match, Äfqan Malişov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sättar Hätämov. Mingäçevir's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Äfqan Malişov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 63rd minute Äfqan Malişov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sättar Hätämov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramiz Ändärov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Äfqan Malişov in the 70th minute of play forced Mingäçevir's goalkeeper Sättar Hätämov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xaläddin Häbibov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manaf Äbdilov in the 76th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Dämir Soltanov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balakän's supporters rose to their feet, but Dämir Soltanov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sättar Hätämov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mingäçevir's Sättar Hätämov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eldäniz Quliyev in the 85th minute of play. A collision led to Mingäçevir getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Mämmäd Ramazanov hit a great ball. Mabud Ziyadov was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
