Ashkan Rahnama dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 8 played minutes Tufnell Park got a freekick which was hit by Bamshad Farahmand. If Mani Ghanad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mani Ghanad got free with Ashkan Rahnama in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mani Ghanad's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ashkan Rahnama firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 16th minute Sohrab Nekounam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ashkan Rahnama saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mani Ghanad kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Mani Ghanad managed to get in a good position for a shot. South Shields's supporters rose to their feet, but Mani Ghanad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ashkan Rahnama breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ashkan Rahnama didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 38th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Tufnell Park's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sohrab Nekounam 47 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Behrang Forouzan was the one to do the kick off. The South Shields fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Bamshad Farahmand hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. South Shields's Sohrab Nekounam got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. South Shields's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
