Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zahar Nelepin kicked off to start the match. 2 minutes into the game, Yuriy Vanin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berwick Upon Tweed's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thurlaston the free kick. 4 minutes in the game, Andrey Boichenko fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Valentin Noskov having to interfere. Valentin Noskov stood somewhat misplaced when Petr Kudryashov came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 5 minute. After having played for 9 minutes, Gennadiy Istomin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thurlaston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gennadiy Istomin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Berwick Upon Tweed booed when Thurlaston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gennadiy Istomin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Zahar Nelepin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vladislav Shiryaev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuriy Vanin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th match minute, Berwick Upon Tweed was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruslan Lezhnev to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the match, Thurlaston's goal looked a bit too open when Zahar Nelepin came free, but Vladislav Shiryaev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Thurlaston's Andrey Boichenko in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentin Noskov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Yuriy Vanin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Vladislav Shiryaev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vladislav Shiryaev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zahar Nelepin, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Valentin Noskov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petr Kudryashov's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute Zahar Nelepin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladislav Shiryaev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Thurlaston getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Andrey Boichenko hit a great ball. Gennadiy Istomin in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valentin Noskov, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Yuriy Vanin took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vladislav Shiryaev. Vladislav Shiryaev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 45th minute Yuriy Vanin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladislav Shiryaev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Petr Kudryashov to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Gennadiy Istomin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gennadiy Istomin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Valentin Noskov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yuriy Vanin came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vladislav Shiryaev could save by the left post. If Zahar Nelepin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Vladislav Shiryaev managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Berwick Upon Tweed's Yuriy Vanin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kirill Galkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Noskov having to interfere. When Gennadiy Istomin came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Thurlaston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gennadiy Istomin couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Andrey Boichenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thurlaston's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrey Boichenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Noskov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vladislav Shiryaev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zahar Nelepin, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After a rather tough play, Berwick Upon Tweed's Dmitriy Kolobov got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Berwick Upon Tweed's goal looked a bit too open when Petr Kudryashov came free, but Valentin Noskov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Petr Kudryashov came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Thurlaston fans jumped to their feet. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Berwick Upon Tweed had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
