In the 17th minute Aleksandr Cheremuhin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anatoliy Luzhnyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anatoliy Luzhnyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksandr Cheremuhin in the 19th minute of play. During the 20th minute of the match Klim Mironov completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Klim Mironov a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to The Hun Empire getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Klim Mironov hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Leonid Muhin. After 27 minutes, Andrey Akhedzhakov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borussia Dortmund and the The Hun Empire players grew even worse after the yellow card. Borussia Dortmund's Leonid Muhin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrey Boyakov in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Delvig to maneuver through the defense. Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonid Muhin having to make a save. Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Leonid Muhin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Andrey Boyakov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Hun Empire's supporters rose to their feet, but Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonid Muhin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 54thth minute of the game Andrey Akhedzhakov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Hun Empire's Anatoliy Luzhnyi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leonid Muhin stood somewhat misplaced when Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 57 minute. If Aleksandr Cheremuhin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The throw-in from Rostislav Aleshin in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by The Hun Empire's Anatoliy Khokhlov. Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonid Muhin having to make a save. Anatoliy Luzhnyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksandr Cheremuhin in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. With a little luck, Borussia Dortmund's Leonid Muhin got control of the ball when Grigoriy Kuvshinnikov tried to sneak it across the goal line.
