The supporters of Sowerby Bridge AFC booed when Marlow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kamasakha Mundra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amanbir Rekhi's late challenge caught a Sowerby Bridge AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 20thth minute of the game Ambaka Kumar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marlow's Upkaar Bedi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 21st minute Kasi Mohan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Upkaar Bedi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ambaka Kumar came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Sowerby Bridge AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ambaka Kumar couldn't finish the play. Ambaka Kumar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Upkaar Bedi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ambaka Kumar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amanbir Rekhi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Atandra Chawla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jit Naik struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Atandra Chawla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marlow. Kasi Mohan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 45 played minutes Marlow got a freekick which was hit by Ayuja Sethi. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ambaka Kumar made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Marlow's goalkeeper Upkaar Bedi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kasi Mohan. After a defensive mix-up in Marlow's zone, Kasi Mohan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Upkaar Bedi came out of the goal and Kasi Mohan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute, Raghu Badyal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marlow's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Devansa Kang was slow to take the kick. During this time Sowerby Bridge AFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Sowerby Bridge AFC's Sham Kattaura to fire away a dangerous shot which Upkaar Bedi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 70th minute, Jit Naik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marlow's Upkaar Bedi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Marlow from getting a goal against them. Ambaka Kumar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85thth minute of the game Ambaka Kumar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marlow's Upkaar Bedi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jit Naik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute Ambaka Kumar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Upkaar Bedi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sowerby Bridge AFC's Kasi Mohan was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 97th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.
