An unexpectedly hard shot by Fakir Pujari in the 4th minute of play forced Hyper United's goalkeeper Edhita Wahlia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ansuka Brar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasant Malhotra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fakir Pujari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Edhita Wahlia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaswinder Bhangu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ansuka Brar having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasant Malhotra in the 17th minute of play forced Ponteland City's goalkeeper Ansuka Brar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes of play, Hyper United's Jaswinder Bhangu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ansuka Brar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edhita Wahlia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ashwini Tendulkar in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Ponteland City getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Ashwini Tendulkar hit a great ball. Vasant Malhotra struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Ansuka Brar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hyper United. Bhavik Bhachu hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Jaguri Tind took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edhita Wahlia. Hyper United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Balasalin Deol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hyper United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ponteland City the free kick. After 34 played minutes Hyper United got a freekick which was hit by Balasalin Deol. Vasant Malhotra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ansuka Brar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agnibija Malhotra kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With his leg Ansuka Brar managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Hyper United's Jaswinder Bhangu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fakir Pujari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 63 minutes, Ashwini Tendulkar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponteland City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ashwini Tendulkar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fakir Pujari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edhita Wahlia having to interfere. Jaswinder Bhangu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ansuka Brar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ashwini Tendulkar came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Ponteland City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ashwini Tendulkar couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Ponteland City's Ansuka Brar got control of the ball when Jaswinder Bhangu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fakir Pujari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dhyanayogi Dias hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Hyper United defense, Ashwini Tendulkar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edhita Wahlia. The Hyper United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edhita Wahlia should have stopped the shot. Hyper United's Edhita Wahlia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fakir Pujari in the 86th minute of play.
