When Uttampal Chopra fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Woodbridge's protests and gave Uttampal Chopra a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Woodbridge getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Uttampal Chopra hit a great ball. Harbajan Chadha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Krishanin Kang went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 33 minutes into the match, Woodbridge's goal looked a bit too open when Prakash Bhave came free, but Jinraj Shetty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jinraj Shetty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prakash Bhave, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harbajan Chadha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hridayesa Sekhon in the 40th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Krishanin Kang got free with Harbajan Chadha in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th match minute, Hebden Bridge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilaspada Nahal to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
