Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Dong got the match started through his kick off. Trần Hoang might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lê Hong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trần Hoang ran back to his position shaking his head. Lê Hong was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and Nguyễn Dong capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nguyễn Dong really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 8 minutes into the match, Thanh Hoa's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hong came free, but Lê Cadeo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Huỳnh Tuan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lê Cadeo. Thanh Hoa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nguyễn Hong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Lê Cadeo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Thanh Hoa's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Teo came free, but Lê Cadeo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Nguyễn Hong put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Lê Cadeo. Thanh Hoa's Nguyễn Dong got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Nguyễn Dong kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lê Hong. That made the score 2-1 in the 29 minute of play. Lê Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Dong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Hoang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Hong having to make a save. Nguyễn Dong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Lê Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Teo to make the kick off. Nguyễn Dong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Trần Hoang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Hong having to make a save. In the 68th minute, Trần Hoang made a precise shot to the right of Lê Hong. Cheo Reo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trần Hoang in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lê Hong saved Cheo Reo from getting behind. Lê Cadeo was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Nguyễn Teo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nguyễn Teo really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. 82 minutes into the match, Cheo Reo's Nguyễn Teo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lê Cadeo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Hoang in the 84th minute of play forced Cheo Reo's goalkeeper Lê Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Trần Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cheo Reo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Thanh Hoa.
