Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nguyễn Minh took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 2 minutes, Phan Binh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hai Phong and the Son La players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hai Phong's Phan Binh got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Nguyễn Thuy struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Trần Hung didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hai Phong. Nguyễn Thuy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Phan Binh notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Son La's Trần Hung. Trần Hung was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hai Phong's Nguyễn Thuy got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trần Hung didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trần Hieu went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Minh in the 26th minute of play forced Son La's goalkeeper Trần Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, Hai Phong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Ho to maneuver through the defense. Hai Phong's Trần Hieu got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Son La's Lê Phuc got a free kick in the 37th minute. Phan Hieu Ngan made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Son La's Hoàng Nga. Son La's attentive Hoàng Nga managed to snatch the ball when Phan Hieu Ngan made a throw-in in the 42nd minute of the game. In the 44th minute, Nguyễn Minh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The long shot by Văn Tho in the 47th minute really tested Trần Hung's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Võ Minh to strike the kick off in the second half. Trần Hung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Hieu, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After 56 minutes, Lê Tan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hai Phong and the Son La players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hai Phong getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Lê Tan hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Võ Minh in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Đặng Tho saved Hai Phong from getting behind. Son La's Hoàng Nga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Phan Hieu Ngan, made in the 62nd minute of the game. 63 minutes into the game, Phan Hieu Ngan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Son La's Hoàng Nga quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 66th minute Nguyễn Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th match minute, Son La was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Phuc to maneuver through the defense. Hoàng Nga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Đặng Tho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Son La got a freekick which was hit by Lê Phuc. After having played for 78 minutes, Nguyễn Thuy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hai Phong's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Thuy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Son La's Trần Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phan Binh in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Son La's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Hieu came free, but Trần Hung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Nguyễn Minh came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Hai Phong fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Minh couldn't finish the play. Trần Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Thuy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Hung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Thuy in the 88th minute of the match. Hai Phong walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
