Võ Phuc helped the player get up and apologised. Lê Thanh took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Võ Lam. Nhật's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Nguyễn Dinh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thua Thien-Hue's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Dinh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Võ Lam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nhật's Võ Lam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Dinh in the 57th minute of play. Dương Minh Phượng made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Phan Nam sent off a good shot on target.
