Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Ritchell started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 5 minutes into the game, one of Ca Mau:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Trần Huynh Duc shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. If Nguyễn Ritchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Đoàn Dung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nguyễn Mai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Đoàn Dung recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 31 minutes, Nguyễn Tho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Can Tho and the Ca Mau players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ca Mau booed when Can Tho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Tho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Ritchell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Tong having to interfere. Phạm Tong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Ritchell in the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Ca Mau's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Mai came free, but Lê Bay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38thth minute of the game Nguyễn Mai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ca Mau's Lê Bay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nguyễn Viet's late challenge caught a Ca Mau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Viet helped the player get up and apologised. 44 minutes into the match, Can Tho's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Ritchell came free, but Phạm Tong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Bùi Tuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lê Bay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Mai in the 48th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Mai made a kick off. Lê Bay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Duy, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, Ca Mau's Nguyễn Dinh got a free kick in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Mai in the 68th minute of play forced Ca Mau's goalkeeper Lê Bay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Mai scored 2-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lê Bay, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th minute Nguyễn Duy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Bay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Can Tho fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Phạm Tong, was totally fooled by Ca Mau's Nguyễn Ritchell, who 84 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The Can Tho fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ca Mau had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
