Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Phạm Cong Vinh took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the game, Phạm Pham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Trần Nam was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Phạm Pham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Trần Nam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phạm Thien in the 12th minute of play forced Ba Ria's goalkeeper Trần Nam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Phuong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Lương Nghiêm-Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nguyễn Phuong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ba Ria's Trần Nam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Thien in the 25th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Phuong got free with Lương Nghiêm-Minh in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nguyễn Phuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phạm Thien stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Ba Ria defense, Phạm Pham kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trần Nam. The Ba Ria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trần Nam should have stopped the shot. After 55 played minutes Ba Ria got a freekick which was hit by Trần Thanh. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Phạm Thien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hung Yen's supporters rose to their feet, but Phạm Thien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trần Nam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Phạm Thien took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Trần Nam to make any attempt to save it. 62 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Phuong had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lương Nghiêm-Minh. Hung Yen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Phuong was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. When Phạm Thien came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Hung Yen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Thien couldn't finish the play. Phạm Pham took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trần Nam. Trần Nam dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Lương Nghiêm-Minh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phạm Cong Vinh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Ba Ria's Nguyễn Phuong nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lương Nghiêm-Minh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. 84 minutes into the game, Phạm Pham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-5. Trần Nam was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87th minute Phạm Thien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Nam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phạm Thien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Nam having to interfere. Phạm Pham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Phạm Cong Vinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Nguyễn Phuong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hung Yen's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
