The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lê Hung kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Vương Chung recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Trần Hung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Đào Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Trần Hung fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Đào Hung. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and SLNA FC's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. The supporters of Ninh Thuan booed when SLNA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Anh Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st match minute, Ninh Thuan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Nam to maneuver through the defense. A long shot from Vương Chung in the 32nd minute of play was well struck, but Đào Hung made a really good save at the right post. Lê Thien kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th play minute Trần Hung came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Đào Hung. 2-0. If Nguyễn Teo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hoàng Duy in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Tran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hoàng Duy took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Tran. Lê Tran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1.

The wind increased when Hoàng Duy made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 57 minutes, Hoàng Duy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ninh Thuan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hoàng Duy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Teo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Tran having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SLNA FC's Nguyễn Phu got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Trần Anh Hung's late challenge caught a Ninh Thuan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trần Anh Hung helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes SLNA FC got a freekick which was hit by Trần Anh Hung. In the 65th minute, Lê Hung sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SLNA FC's Lê Tran didn't even have to move. In the 67th minute, Nguyễn Teo made a precise shot to the right of Lê Tran. SLNA FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. The supporters of Ninh Thuan booed when SLNA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Anh Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Nguyễn Teo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 85 played minutes Ninh Thuan got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Duy. Phan Teo hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute of the match Vương Chung sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Đào Hung skillfully saved the ball. If Võ Lam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
