Seating: 2152, VIP seats: 186) Vinh Long's Nguyễn Dinh started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Vinh Long defense, Đoàn Tinh kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trần Duc. The Vinh Long fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trần Duc should have stopped the shot. Đoàn Tinh might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trần Duc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Đoàn Tinh ran back to his position shaking his head. Trần Duc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đoàn Tinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 30 minutes, Trần Duc successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Đoàn Tinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Duc having to interfere. In the 36th match minute, Lao Bao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Huy to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the game, Đoàn Tinh recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Trần Duc. Đoàn Tinh showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Trần Duc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Võ Thien went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Huy got free with Trần Duc in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Đoàn Tinh to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Nguyễn Huy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Đoàn Tinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Trần Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Dương Hong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vinh Long's Vương Hoa shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 59th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Phan Duong but with some difficulty. If Nguyễn Huy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Dinh struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Phan Duong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vinh Long. The supporters of Lao Bao booed when Vinh Long was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Thien didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Đoàn Tinh in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trần Duc saved Vinh Long from getting behind. Trần Duc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đoàn Tinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Trần Duc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Huy in the 73rd minute of play. Đoàn Tinh might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trần Duc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Đoàn Tinh ran back to his position shaking his head. A sloppy throw-in by Vương Hoa in the 79th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lao Bao's Phan Loc. The supporters of Lao Bao booed when Vinh Long was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Lien didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 played minutes, Lao Bao's Lý Nguyet shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Trần Duc came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lao Bao reached it. Đoàn Tinh blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Trần Duc having to make a save. Trần Duc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đoàn Tinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Nguyễn Huy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lao Bao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Huy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Trần Duc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đoàn Tinh in the 92nd minute of play. Nguyễn Tran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Phan Duong made a huge save. Lao Bao walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
