Hidayat Hoe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Formby. Bineesh Soon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Muhammad Ee in the 24th minute of play. Bineesh Soon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Muhammad Ee, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Clive Chandran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Formby's Clive Chandran got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Yorkshire City's zone, Clive Chandran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hidayat Hoe came out of the goal and Clive Chandran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steven Mathews got free with Hidayat Hoe in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute, Muhammad Ee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Clive Chandran put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Hidayat Hoe. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Muhammad Ee to strike the kick off in the second half. Famih Ning struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. When Mujahid Hock was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. After 70 played minutes Yorkshire City got a freekick which was hit by Mujahid Hock. Merlin Namasivayam hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Clive Chandran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 73rd minute Clive Chandran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hidayat Hoe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Sarb Choo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formby's supporters rose to their feet, but Sarb Choo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hidayat Hoe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
