An unexpected shot in the 4th minute by Sajeev Ramachandran got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. John Shyan's late challenge caught a Paloma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Shyan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th minute, John Shyan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sajeev Ramachandran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14thth minute of the game Alam Yip who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paloma's Joel Tioe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Darfield United's John Shyan got a free kick in the 20th minute. Azly Hongyi hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Famih Butcher notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Paloma's Joel Tioe. Joel Tioe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alam Yip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Faizal Sarangapani kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Famih Butcher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Tioe having to interfere. Famih Butcher might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Tioe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Famih Butcher ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Felix Koh made the kick off in the second half. Alam Yip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Joel Tioe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Famih Butcher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sajeev Ramachandran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alif Ching having to interfere. If Alam Yip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Shyan was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Darfield United getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. John Shyan hit a great ball. Jonathan Dhanabalan hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 71 minutes, Azly Hongyi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Darfield United and the Paloma players grew even worse after the yellow card. Darfield United's Alam Yip got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Felix Koh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alif Ching was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Darfield United played a much better game than Paloma and deserved their victory. The Paloma players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
