Muhammad Soon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Herminio Bemabe in the 4th minute. Muhammad Soon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lamar Lee's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. After some careless play in the SouthSingapore defense, Shahiran Hsin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wong Wah. The SouthSingapore fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wong Wah should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Wallsend 777's Muhammad Soon got control of the ball when Danial Koh tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wallsend 777's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Herminio Bemabe scored to the left of an out of position Muhammad Soon, making the score, 1-1. After some careless play in the Wallsend 777 defense, Herminio Bemabe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Muhammad Soon. The Wallsend 777 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Muhammad Soon should have stopped the shot. Danial Koh scored 3-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Muhammad Soon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Danial Koh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Muhammad Soon having to interfere. The SouthSingapore fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when SouthSingapore's Herminio Bemabe looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Muhammad Soon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clive Wenyong in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute, SouthSingapore's Danial Koh dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herminio Bemabe got free with Muhammad Soon in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to SouthSingapore getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Faiz Dyce hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Danial Koh left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SouthSingapore fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herminio Bemabe made a kick off. Muhammad Soon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faiz Dyce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Muhammad Soon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lamar Lee, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Wallsend 777's goal looked a bit too open when Lamar Lee came free, but Muhammad Soon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wallsend 777's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herminio Bemabe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-1. Muhammad Soon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herminio Bemabe, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute.
