Spectators: 7410 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1360, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Herminio Bemabe kicked off to start the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerry Ning in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faiz Shiong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerry Ning charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerry Ning the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Herminio Bemabe who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Faiz Shiong when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 19th minute, Azli Butcher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22ndth minute of the game Dale Sim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SouthSingapore's Wong Wah was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Faiz Shiong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The supporters of Runcorn AFC booed when SouthSingapore was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clive Wenyong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Faiz Shiong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Ning in the 33rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SouthSingapore's Haziq Wah got a free kick in the 35th minute. Herminio Bemabe's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Faiz Shiong skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Herminio Bemabe in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Faiz Shiong, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dale Sim to make the kick off. Faiz Shiong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herminio Bemabe in the 54th minute of play. After 59 minutes, Clive Wenyong mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SouthSingapore and the Runcorn AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SouthSingapore's Clive Wenyong got a free kick in the 59th minute. Wong Wah was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dale Sim showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 60 minute of play. Faiz Shiong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danial Koh in the 65th minute of play. Faiz Shiong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Runcorn AFC's Faiz Shiong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Ning in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Jerry Ning left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SouthSingapore fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herminio Bemabe in the 88th minute of play forced Runcorn AFC's goalkeeper Faiz Shiong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faiz Shiong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danial Koh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the game, Herminio Bemabe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Faiz Shiong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. SouthSingapore's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
