When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Merlin Hsin put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Khai Gopala Pillai. After some careless play in the Halstead defense, Merlin Choy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Khai Gopala Pillai. The Halstead fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Khai Gopala Pillai should have stopped the shot. Merlin Hsin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Khai Gopala Pillai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merlin Choy in the 40th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Merlin Hsin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Khai Gopala Pillai. Halstead's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Merlin Hsin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Merlin Hsin in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Khai Gopala Pillai saved Halstead from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Merlin Hsin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th match minute, Smelling Cats FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hafriz Ee to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Halstead's Victor Dryburgh got a free kick in the 60th minute. The audience cheered when Hafriz Ee's long shot passed Khai Gopala Pillai's right side. It was 7-0, 61 minutes into the match. When Smelling Cats FC's Shahiran Gopala Pillai in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Shahiran Gopala Pillai sped through Halstead's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Khai Gopala Pillai. Shahiran Gopala Pillai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Merlin Choy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Smelling Cats FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
