Cherry Yuson's late challenge caught a Malmesbury City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cherry Yuson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to United City getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Cherry Yuson hit a great ball. Aga Tecson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Eddie Lumbang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eddie Lumbang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Querimit, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aga Tecson in the 30th minute of play forced United City's goalkeeper Eddie Lumbang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eddie Lumbang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aga Tecson, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After a rather tough play, United City's Isaac Pecson got a free kick in the 35th minute. Eddie Lumbang came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Malmesbury City's George Querimit. But to his dismay, George Querimit quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jomari Gonong kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gualterio Yalung was the one to do the kick off. United City's Eddie Lumbang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Querimit in the 53rd minute of play. The United City fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Malmesbury City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
