Edgar Palugod dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Tol Paulin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Palugod having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in GenSan's zone, Tondo Ganzon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Palugod came out of the goal and Tondo Ganzon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tol Paulin scored 0-4 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgar Palugod, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 20 minutes into the game, Bartoleme Mazmela cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Edgar Palugod was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 23rd minute Tol Paulin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Palugod saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Tol Sablon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar Palugod. GenSan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tol Sablon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. F.C. Cagayan Academy's Floyd Tugade got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tol Paulin in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Palugod prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute Tol Sablon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Palugod saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Palugod showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tol Paulin in the 34th minute of the match. If Tol Paulin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edgar Palugod took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tondo Ganzon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgar Palugod made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tol Sablon in the 44th minute of play. The F.C. Cagayan Academy fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when F.C. Cagayan Academy's Tol Paulin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

Jasper Famador's late challenge caught a GenSan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jasper Famador helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, F.C. Cagayan Academy's Jasper Famador got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Edgar Palugod made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bartoleme Mazmela in the 56th minute. Edgar Palugod showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tol Paulin in the 59th minute of the match. GenSan's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Tol Sablon scored to the left of an out of position Edgar Palugod, making the score, 0-8. Tondo Ganzon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edgar Palugod came out and tried to block the shot, but Tondo Ganzon slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 63rd minute. The supporters of GenSan booed when F.C. Cagayan Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tol Sablon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes of play, F.C. Cagayan Academy's Tol Paulin made it 0-10 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgar Palugod was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Tol Sablon took a quick shot and it went in 0-13 without a chance for Edgar Palugod to make any attempt to save it. Edgar Palugod was a little too slow when Tol Paulin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 0-14. Tol Paulin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tol Sablon in the 90th minute of play forced GenSan's goalkeeper Edgar Palugod to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Tol Sablon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C. Cagayan Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-15. When the final whistle sounded F.C. Cagayan Academy left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than GenSan.
