Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Roy Kurth kicked off to start the match. Nelson Beattie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Mudie having to interfere. Bryson Mcgirr made an important save on a dangerous shot by Broderick Hoskin in the 13th minute. George Mudie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelson Beattie in the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Martin Collins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brindabella's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Collins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bryson Mcgirr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roy Kurth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Bryson Mcgirr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Marshall Finden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Nelson Beattie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Weatherboard's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson Beattie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Marshall Finden made the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Brindabella got a freekick which was hit by Martin Collins. Nelson Beattie who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of George Mudie when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Marshall Finden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. George Mudie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Marshall Finden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Nelson Beattie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Weatherboard's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelson Beattie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Mudie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the game, Keefer Gray was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Weatherboard's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brindabella the free kick. Nelson Beattie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Weatherboard's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Collins came free, but Bryson Mcgirr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Weatherboard's Nelson Beattie suffered a sprained foot after 90 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Malcolm Kurth's late challenge caught a Weatherboard's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Malcolm Kurth helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute, one of Brindabella:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Brindabella. If Marshall Finden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Brindabella supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Weatherboard's performance. The match ended with a win for Weatherboard.
