Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jared Mcmillan started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Barry Black had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes into the game, Perth Kickers's Brent Mcjunkins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Norm Sibbold made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Barry Black struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Darryl Laughton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lourdes F.C. Brook Stanton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jared Mcmillan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darryl Laughton having to interfere. Brent Mcjunkins who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Norm Sibbold when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 26th minute, Peter Limmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jared Mcmillan came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Lourdes F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jared Mcmillan couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute, Ringo Ward hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Perth Kickers's Brent Mcjunkins got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brent Mcjunkins who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Norm Sibbold when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Brent Mcjunkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Bud Hitchen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brent Mcjunkins made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brent Mcjunkins in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norm Sibbold saved Lourdes F.C from getting behind. Lourdes F.C's Barry Black got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Perth Kickers booed when Lourdes F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barry Black didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brent Mcjunkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute of the match Dallas Mcneven shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Norm Sibbold showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Perth Kickers's goalkeeper Darryl Laughton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brook Stanton in the 74th minute of play forced Lourdes F.C's goalkeeper Norm Sibbold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norm Sibbold didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Peter Limmer went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brent Mcjunkins in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norm Sibbold saved Lourdes F.C from getting behind. Brent Mcjunkins might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norm Sibbold. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brent Mcjunkins ran back to his position shaking his head. 93 minutes into the match, Perth Kickers's goalkeeper Darryl Laughton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barry Black. In the 95th minute of the match, Barry Black got a very nice opportunity to score, but Darryl Laughton was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Perth Kickers walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
