Bernie Paddle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Paynter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernie Paddle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Bernie Paddle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brookdale's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernie Paddle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Paynter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute Bryden Hess shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Grieve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Payne Bower fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inactive Team's protests and gave Payne Bower a yellow card for diving instead. Payne Bower kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Bryden Hess sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bryden Hess struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Larry Grieve didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inactive Team. Inactive Team's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paz Coburn in the 42nd minute. Inactive Team's Paz Coburn was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Larry Grieve in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

The wind increased when Bryden Hess made the kick off in the second half. Bernie Paddle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Richard Paynter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Richard Paynter successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 62nd match minute, Inactive Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jervis Knevett to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Brookdale booed when Inactive Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darrell Yard didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Bernie Paddle notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Inactive Team's Richard Paynter. Richard Paynter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Larry Grieve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Byrne Czaczka in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryden Hess in the 79th minute of play forced Brookdale's goalkeeper Larry Grieve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nelson Minter came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Brookdale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelson Minter couldn't finish the play. Richard Paynter was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Nelson Minter capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nelson Minter really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Bernie Paddle might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Paynter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernie Paddle ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernie Paddle got free with Richard Paynter in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, Brookdale's goal looked a bit too open when Byrne Czaczka came free, but Larry Grieve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inactive Team's Byrne Czaczka got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Inactive Team supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brookdale's performance. The match ended with a win for Brookdale.
