The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Andrew Smoothey kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Bungunya's Danton Marsland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrew Smoothey in the 5th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Henry Slattery cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Stew Breasley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Club 4fun's Stew Breasley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Slattery in the 12th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Bungunya's Clark Pearce got a free kick in the 16th minute. The supporters of Bungunya booed when Club 4fun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kirby Skittrall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alford Cubit took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stew Breasley. Club 4fun's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 22 minutes, Kirby Skittrall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club 4fun and the Bungunya players grew even worse after the yellow card. Barry Powell took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stew Breasley. Stew Breasley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Barry Powell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Stew Breasley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, Club 4fun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlton Bower to maneuver through the defense. Stew Breasley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Slattery, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Club 4fun's zone, Barry Powell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stew Breasley came out of the goal and Barry Powell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kirby Skittrall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danton Marsland having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Caine Mcvicar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlton Bower sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Bungunya fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Bungunya's Douglas Wharton looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrew Smoothey in the 65th minute of play forced Bungunya's goalkeeper Danton Marsland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrew Smoothey took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Danton Marsland. Danton Marsland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. After some careless play in the Bungunya defense, Kirby Skittrall kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Danton Marsland. The Bungunya fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Danton Marsland should have stopped the shot. Tommy Cootes hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Kirby Skittrall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club 4fun's Stew Breasley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry Powell in the 89th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Club 4fun's zone, Henry Slattery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stew Breasley came out of the goal and Henry Slattery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the match, Club 4fun's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Powell came free, but Stew Breasley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
