Jeremy Mueller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sam Couzens during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 11 minutes Scorpion United FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nichol Millgate who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Hawthorn FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Luck Day hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Jeremy Mueller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burns Deal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Hawthorn FC's Payne Roach sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stanley Maybury narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Scorpion United FC's Damon Cubitt got a free kick in the 20th minute. Patrick Waterland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the game, Kent Balaam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hawthorn FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scorpion United FC the free kick. In the 34th minute, one of Hawthorn FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hawthorn FC. In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Scorpion United FC. Sam Couzens stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Burns Deal. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Hawthorn FC's Kent Balaam got a free kick in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Payne Roach was the one to do the kick off. If Quincy Missen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Waterland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burns Deal having to interfere. With a little luck, Hawthorn FC's Burns Deal got control of the ball when Patrick Waterland tried to sneak it across the goal line. 3-1 became the score in the 98th minute when Payne Roach elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
