Bradshaw Mckinnes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brookes Ryan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. If Bradshaw Mckinnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bradshaw Mckinnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brookes Ryan was a little too slow when Bradshaw Mckinnes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 1-0. With his leg Brookes Ryan managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Tooligie's Corder Wayland fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradshaw Mckinnes in the 37th minute of play forced Liverpool Allstars's goalkeeper Brookes Ryan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edison Tout made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allen Hines in the 40th minute of play. After 42 minutes, Kenneth Busst mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tooligie and the Liverpool Allstars players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd minute, Kenneth Busst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Richard Weller sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tooligie's Edison Tout didn't even have to move. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bradshaw Mckinnes made a kick off. Corder Wayland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Brookes Ryan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rob Boserio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. Liverpool Allstars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tooligie the free kick.
