The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 18 minutes into the match, Wakatu's goal looked a bit too open when Reginald Carragher came free, but Humphry Kuskoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lorimer Gissane was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Ian Eversden capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ian Eversden really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Humphry Kuskoff came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Caringbah's Reginald Carragher. But to his dismay, Reginald Carragher quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. A collision led to Wakatu getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Berkeley Keayes hit a great ball. Humphry Kuskoff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart Ludwick in the 33rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathaniel Favas during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nathaniel Favas kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Antony Schonke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humphry Kuskoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Reginald Carragher got free with Humphry Kuskoff in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lorimer Gissane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradley Notley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
