The referee showed Payton Thomas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Payton Thomas kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 9th minute Bill Crane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humphry Kuskoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 played minutes Wakatu got a freekick which was hit by Ian Eversden. In the 44th minute, Duffield Crawford made a precise shot to the right of Humphry Kuskoff. Wakatu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bill Crane was the one to do the kick off. During the 52nd minute of the match Payton Thomas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Payton Thomas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Hunterton's Payton Thomas got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Hunterton's Brookes Beale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Notley in the 54th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Bill Crane took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Humphry Kuskoff to make any attempt to save it. Humphry Kuskoff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Crane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bill Crane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Hunterton's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Eversden came free, but Brookes Beale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Bremen Travers fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hunterton's protests and gave Bremen Travers a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes Wakatu got a freekick which was hit by Roger Laughton. Bill Crane received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Humphry Kuskoff came out and tried to block the shot, but Bill Crane slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 73rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Duffield Crawford got free with Humphry Kuskoff in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Humphry Kuskoff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bill Crane in the 89th minute of play. Hunterton's Bill Crane got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Hunterton left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Wakatu.
