Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 2 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Andrei Ivan came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, RED DEVIL's goal looked a bit too open when Anestis Kotsopoulos came free, but Ali Cafer Konuralp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anestis Kotsopoulos scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ali Cafer Konuralp, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Rot-Weiss-Essen's zone, Andrei Ivan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. August Hoffmanns came out of the goal and Andrei Ivan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Serafino Flores might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over August Hoffmanns. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Serafino Flores ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximilian Henning in the 15th minute of play forced RED DEVIL's goalkeeper Ali Cafer Konuralp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Cafer Konuralp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 17th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Mesut Özil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ali Cafer Konuralp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. RED DEVIL's Andrei Ivan got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 25 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Leif-Eric Albrecht. Ruben Criston hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maximilian Henning shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ali Cafer Konuralp came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rot-Weiss-Essen reached it. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Anestis Kotsopoulos sped through RED DEVIL's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ali Cafer Konuralp. August Hoffmanns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Romo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximilian Henning in the 34th minute of play forced RED DEVIL's goalkeeper Ali Cafer Konuralp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Cafer Konuralp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 36th minute of the match. If Serafino Flores had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute Serafino Flores shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Mesut Özil in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ali Cafer Konuralp, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ali Cafer Konuralp made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Anestis Kotsopoulos sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Leif-Eric Albrecht hit a great ball. When RED DEVIL's Andrei Ivan in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrei Ivan in the 73rd minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ruben Ubarna came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the RED DEVIL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruben Ubarna couldn't finish the play. Serafino Flores's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hoffmanns read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. RED DEVIL's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Serafino Flores in the 79th minute. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Anestis Kotsopoulos hit a great ball. When RED DEVIL's Fernando Barreiros in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Serafino Flores ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to RED DEVIL getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Fernando Barreiros hit a great ball. If Fernando Barreiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 91 minutes into the match, RED DEVIL's goal looked a bit too open when Anestis Kotsopoulos came free, but Ali Cafer Konuralp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Haupt charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugo Haupt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hugo Haupt hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Ali Cafer Konuralp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximilian Henning, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After 95 minutes RED DEVIL's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Maximilian Henning who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Mesut Özil managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Mesut Özil charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mesut Özil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Mesut Özil got a free kick in the 95th minute.
