Sven-Olof Vestlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but I Putu 董卓 made a huge save. CAN ERZURUM were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Hendek Spor Kulübü's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mehmet Poyraz took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Arda Turan heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Joar Scheie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Refik Halit Hatemoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hendek Spor Kulübü's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mehmet Poyraz was slow to take the kick. During this time CAN ERZURUM's players had a chance to rest. In the 39th minute Nacho Scocco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joar Scheie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The supporters of Hendek Spor Kulübü booed when CAN ERZURUM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehmet Poyraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the game, Ayberk Gümüşcü recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joar Scheie. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joar Scheie firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 67thth minute of the game Nacho Scocco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CAN ERZURUM's Joar Scheie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 72nd match minute, CAN ERZURUM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baba Popescu to maneuver through the defense. Ayberk Gümüşcü took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joar Scheie. CAN ERZURUM's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. CAN ERZURUM's Mehmet Şefik Karadağ managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Muharrem Arruta in the 75 minute of the game. Joar Scheie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Refik Halit Hatemoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joar Scheie made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Nacho Scocco sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Refik Halit Hatemoğlu in the 83rd minute of play forced CAN ERZURUM's goalkeeper Joar Scheie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joar Scheie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Refik Halit Hatemoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
