The audience was convinced that Ted van der Schaaf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonardo Paz was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Túlio Maravilha got free with Folker Ubels in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Maravilha in the 10th minute of play forced Lemel SV's goalkeeper Folker Ubels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonardo Paz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted van der Schaaf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Folker Ubels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Secco in the 17th minute of play. Ted van der Schaaf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonardo Paz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. João Vítor Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 24 played minutes Palmares Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Botelho. Leonardo Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teun Schoenmakers, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Lemel SV getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Guus Rinzema hit a great ball. Túlio Maravilha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Palmares Futebol Clube's Leonardo Paz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted van der Schaaf in the 41st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Barreto during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes Palmares Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Barreto. 45 minutes into the game, Jacques Brinke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lemel SV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmares Futebol Clube the free kick. In the 45th minute, Jacques Brinke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Luisinho Nogueira in the 46th minute really tested Folker Ubels's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Túlio Maravilha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Vítor Sena in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Folker Ubels prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacques Brinke hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute of the match Luisinho Nogueira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Folker Ubels skillfully saved the ball. In the 56th minute Túlio Maravilha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folker Ubels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Ricardo Barreto in the 59th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Lemel SV's Serge de Boer. After 61 minutes, Túlio Maravilha made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Lemel SV's Folker Ubels tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Folker Ubels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Túlio Maravilha's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Maravilha came free, but Folker Ubels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. Thomás Maia replaced Luisinho Nogueira. A collision led to Palmares Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Túlio Maravilha hit a great ball. Lemel SV's Folker Ubels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Túlio Maravilha in the 77th minute of play. The supporters of Palmares Futebol Clube booed when Lemel SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Rensenbrink didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Carlos Antunes charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Carlos Antunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Palmares Futebol Clube's João Carlos Antunes got a free kick in the 86th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Túlio Maravilha notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Lemel SV's Folker Ubels. Folker Ubels was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Folker Ubels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Vítor Sena's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lemel SV players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Palmares Futebol Clube.
